My Top Vegan Beauty Brands
These brands I am about to list in this article are my personal favorite vegan advocates and companies. Many brands who make clothing or makeup, either test on animals or use animal products in their products. This is completely unnecessary in a modern day society when there are so many resources to use that do not include the harming of animals.
1. Kat Von D Makeup Collection
Kat Von D Beauty |
Kat Von D is a vegan activist, and a professional tattoo artist. Her brand would no doubt be vegan due to her ethical beliefs. Using her tattoo artistry background, Von D creates a line that'll stay on perfectly, as if it was a real tattoo. Her products have been a phenomena at popular makeup distributer, Sephora. Kat Von D has not been vegan her whole life, and her brand at a point in time was also not vegan. When she decided to make the switch for her own, it only made sense to make the brand vegan as well.
Kat Von D Beauty Pro |
"I wasn’t yet vegan when I started KvD Beauty almost 10 years ago, so reformulating preexisting non-vegan makeup products has been a great thing. I love being able to show not just makeup junkies, but other brands (both indie and corporate), that conscious ethical changes are important, realistically doable, and profitable. If I can do it, so can you," Kat Von D said during her interview with Mercyforanimals.org
Kat Von D deserves not only an applause from us, but from the animals for providing a wonderful brand of cruelty-free makeup.
Spectrum Collections is a beautiful line of synthetic makeup brushes and lashes that have been featured on Cosmopolitan, Look, Glamour and Hello! This cruelty free brand comes in beautiful colors and collections. One of the most popular collections of makeup brushes is based upon the classic chick flick, "Mean Girls" starring Lindsey Lohan. An all pink makeup set is visually appealing, and soft just as the mink makeup brushes that are overwhelmingly popular.

Mean Girls Collection by Spectrum |
This brand has been a wonderful advocate for vegan lifestyles world-wide.
"Proud to be a PETA registered and Vegan trademarked cruelty free brand, all of Spectrum’s brushes are made of the highest quality synthetic hair. Once you feel the super-soft bristles you’ll never go back! *No unicorns were harmed in the making of Spectrum Brushes." Spectrum said in their "About Me" section on their brand website.
Spectrum is a fun, compassionate brand looking to make an impact on the world one makeup brush at a time.
3. LUSH Retail
Lush Cosmetics
Lush is a brand derived from organic and handmade products that are individually wrapped. The merchandising of this brand is done exquisitely. As a customer, walking into a Lush store is an experience within itself. The aroma of the fresh products, will convince you alone to drop some cash for a bath bomb. Not to mention, another cruelty free place to shop! The products can vary from bath bombs, to lip scrub, face masks, and more products that'll rehabilitate your body.
"Lush do not test on animals, do not use materials that contain animal derivatives that are unsuitable for vegetarians and only buy raw materials from companies that are not involved in the use of, or commission the use of, animals for testing and have no plans to do so in the future. We believe that animal testing is not acceptable. We recognise that customer safety is of importance but that this can be assured without the use of animals." A quote from LUSH UK.
Lush has become such a well known brand due to it's compassion for the environment and use of organic products.
