Five Must Try Vegan Food Stops in Orlando
The city of Orlando may seem to lack as many vegan options compared to metropolitan cities like Portland, Los Angeles, and New York City. Despite the small amount of vegan choices in town, there's quite a few gems. From delicious dairy-free doughnuts, to tempeh bacon, vegans won't stay hungry in Orlando.
1. Lazy Moon Pizza
Lazy Moon is a great spot for pizza lovers. So go ahead, bring your vegan friend to Lazy Moon and you won't have to suffer through the food. Lazy Moon caters to all audiences, yet the vegan pizza is exquisite.
One option at Lazy Moon is to stack up on their wide variety of veggies, and go cheese-less. This is my personal favorite, because the giant pizza crust and the vegetables fill me up and taste incredible.
The second, extremely popular option is to opt for a dairy free "Daiya" cheese. This cheese is a great replacement for vegans, and allows for a real pizza eating experience. Those vegans who crave cheese pizza, without the cruelty, can come down to Lazy Moon!
2. Valhalla Bakery
The Valhalla Bakery is an absolute gem in Orlando. The sweet taste of doughnuts without the guilt of animal by-products can be found at this vegan bakery. Every doughnut is almost as a cake, and definitely different than your traditional doughnut. This is my favorite place when looking to splurge. Whole Foods has an excellent display of doughnuts, yet does not quite compare to Valhalla's creativity and quality.
The fun does not end at the doughnuts. Valhalla offers customizable cakes, and cupcakes. Whether it be a wedding cake or a birthday cake, they take care of every vegan's sweet tooth.
3. Dandelion Comunitea Cafe
Dandelion is a treasure in Orlando's vegan community. The laid back environment, makes killer vegan dishes. My favorite item on the menu is their tempeh bacon. It's incredibly flavorful, and would knock the socks off a carnivore. The outdoor seating, and freshly brewed tea is a relaxing setting for a quiet cruelty-free lunch in town.
4. Tru Nature Juice Bar
Tru Nature Juice Bar is a refreshing indulgence of fruit in it's finest forms. Açaí bowls have been revolutionizing veganism in the past couple of years. The beautiful presentation does not only look good, it tastes unbelievable. Smoothies have become a satisfying meal, thanks to the bowls. Reasonably priced, this is a great stop for a refreshing snack.

One of my all time favorite vegan burgers. The Vegan Beyond Burger offered at Burger, is flavorful veggie patty imitating a real hamburger, This is a great choice for those transitioning to a plant based diet, as it replaces the cravings for meat. Burgerfi released a vegan multigrain bun, as well as a "green style," lettuce wrapped option. No matter if you're looking for something light, or hardy, this vegan burger can do it all.
